Somewhere in between disinfecting your home for the umpteenth time and stashing away those extra quarantine supplies, any thoughts you were entertaining of upgrading to truly chic decor in this spring of COVID-19 have probably been thwarted.

Sadly enough, no space has taken the brunt of all this pandemic prep as much as your bathroom.

Call us crazy, but we still have big plans for our bathroom styling.

That is why we’re back with our weekly report on the most popular designs on Instagram, this time returning some of that pre-pandemic glam to your loo.

Here are five top bathroom trends on IG right now, with all the juicy details on how you can steal the look.

1. Vintage mirror frame

If you’re looking for a one-stop shop piece to upgrade your bathroom furnishings, look no further than a unique vintage mirror frame, like this one featured by @decorsteals.

“A vintage mirror adds detail, texture and interest to a space,” says Angel Tan, designer and director of The House Directory.

“Bathrooms can sometimes be a little stark and cold, with all the hard, flat surfaces. A vintage piece, with its weathered features, looks like it has a story to tell—and can inject some much-needed character to the space.”

2. Summer green vanity

Being stuck inside, we could all use more green vibes right about now. This verdant summer vanity from @craven_haven might be just the ticket.

”Striking colors like summer green are currently having the run of the design world,” says Jaime Huffman, interior design blogger for Charleston Blonde.

“This particular green hue draws inspiration from deep tropical greens and evokes a sense of calm and luxury. Styled with white countertops and brass hardware, the color makes for a bathroom that stands far above your standard builders-grade piece.”

3. Moroccan-inspired sink

Your dream vacation might be postponed indefinitely, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring home some exotic souvenirs. This Moroccan-inspired sink featured by @end_of_the_row is giving us all the dreamy travel feels right now.

“A sink like this one provides a beautiful focal point in the bathroom,” says Tan.

“Moroccan-inspired sinks can be bold and colorful or more subtle. The exquisite detail and hand-made quality adds a level of luxury, especially when paired with feature brassware. These basins work particularly well in a powder room or guest bathroom, as they are compact, but can make a big statement.”

4. Dark-washed grout

Did we just say grout? Yes—yes, we did. It turns out that choosing a darker shade for those nondescript cracks between your tiles can make a big difference in the overall look of your powder room. Still not convinced? Just check out this post from @thebohoabode.

“[Dark-washed grout] will contrast the tile, bring in interest, and lift the space—especially if you have that same dark color in other places in the bathroom,” says Kayla Goldstein, senior designer of Kayla LLC. “Grout gets dirty, but dark grout doesn’t.”

5. Free-standing metal tub

We’ve all seen the free-standing tub trend, but a free-standing metal tub? We’ll let you be the judge of this look (with this post by @redbricks_lifestyle), but we’re pretty sure it’s the stuff dreams are made of.

“There are so many reasons to love free-standing metal tubs,” says Vicki Liston of On the Fly … DIY. “The metal gives that vintage vibe that you can work into all sorts of design styles, from farmhouse to industrial.”
